Mapping the evolution of workers’ buyouts: From crisis response to strategic succession

Resumo

Esta pesquisa apresenta uma análise bibliométrica abrangente do campo acadêmico em torno das Aquisições de Empresas pelos Trabalhadores (Workers’ Buyouts – WBOs). Com base em um conjunto selecionado de 1.039 documentos provenientes das principais bases de dados acadêmicas (Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar e EBSCO), o estudo mapeia a estrutura intelectual, a evolução histórica e as concentrações temáticas das pesquisas publicadas entre 1961 e 2024. Por meio da aplicação da validação semântica e das leis de Lotka, Price e Bradford, identificam-se padrões de produtividade autoral, concentração de citações e distribuição por periódicos. Os resultados revelam um campo em rápida consolidação, caracterizado por um núcleo reduzido porém influente de autores e periódicos altamente citados, ao lado de uma ampla dispersão de contribuições periféricas. Embora o campo demonstre forte coerência interna, os achados também expõem assimetrias epistêmicas, particularmente em termos de representação geográfica e linguística. O artigo conclui propondo direções futuras de pesquisa que ampliem a diversidade teórica e empírica do campo e aproximem a produção acadêmica do potencial emancipador dos WBOs.
